Its this clear coating plastic like thing thats on the top of my washing machine after I bought it. It says "please remove protective coating"......why?

Is it necessary? Is the machine going to be damaged if I don't remove the clear plastic like film from it?

I'm thinking its for ascetics but why is it begging me and asking me "please". Should it just say, you could remove the clear coating on you machine if you like.

Should I be worried if I don't remove it?

If it didn't have a label, some people might not think it was removable, so they put a little sign on it to remind them. You can certainly leave it on as long as you like as it won't hurt anything and will offer some protection for the machine. Most people take the coating off as soon as their appliances are installed, but you really don't have to do it immediately as it won't be a problem to leave it on.

I think you may be getting hung up on the word "Please", which is kind of an odd term for something that should be an instruction, not a suggestion. Products have all sorts of labels on them these days, most of them having to do with safety and liability issues. Look at the ones on new ladders some time. I don't think of "please" as begging, but more of a courtesy term that implies that it isn't mandatory and will cause no harm if you don't. The plastic shouldn't leave a residue if you leave it on for a while because it probably doesn't have any due to it being applied with a heat shrinking method, and if it does, it will be easily cleaned, while it will offer some protection against scratches, which is all its designed to do, after all.

Take it off just before Martha Stewart or Oprah comes over. Or someone you respect and like, whoever you want to impress by having a shiny washer.

Over time the coating deteriorates and gets gummy, sticky and scratched. It's not for daily use, it's just there to protect the finish when the washer is moved and installed.
