I bought some Lincoln Logs at a garage sale and when I got home I found mouse poop in the bin they were in. How can I clean/disinfect them with out ruining them? I also got a Tickle Me Elmo, how should I clean that?

Maybe you could clean the wood with Murphy's Oil? It's a soap for wood. I would air out and lightly spray Lysol. If you have the room, I would place the Elmo doll in the freezer to kill any virus' or bacteria growing on it. Again, air it out on a sunny day and lightly spray lysol on it.

you can simply spray the lincoln logs with Lysol Disinfectant spray. Let the logs dry natural and do not wipe off. The lysol will kill 99.9% of all viruses mold, mildew, and bacteria. I would try the same thing for the tickle me Elmo doll as well. My only concern with that is whether or not anything has ever soaked into the doll that can not be seen and could possible cause problems.

You can clean the lincoln logs in bleach water, it will change the color, but if you wash them, rince them good, & let them dry out in the sunshine, they should be good.

As for the tickle me elmo ?????? I was told years ago by a pediatrician not to buy stuffed animals at a garage sale. But since you already have, can you take the voice box out? If you can get the mechanics out, throw him in the washer & dryer. Once dry you can use a brush on him to fluff out his fur. That is what I always did for my kids stuffed, furry animals.

LMAO! I just did the same search for exactly the same reason. The whole scene, from the moment she called them Lincoln Log sandwiches, struck me that this was family snack from AJ's childhood... Like my mom's "bockalo parfait," which is strictly her own and got its name because I couldn't pronounce "popsicle" when I was a kid. But my real question for all of us who have watched, backed-up our TiVos and rewatched that scene to figure out what a Lincoln Log sandwich really is: Have any of you guys actually TRIED one? Are they any good? Am I going to be the guinnea pig here?

hot soapy water and some lysol... make sure your rinse them and dry them well..... the elmo i would take a cloth with some hot soapy water on it and wash him off like most stuffed animals say to and than let him dry you might want to blow dry him. if you want to take extra messure use lysol spray on both items after they dry. and before you wash them.
