Yuck. Bed bugs! These bugs come out at night to bite you and live up to 100 feet away from where you sleep. They usually live under your bed or by your furniture close to your bed, so at night they come out to where you sleep to feed. That's why you're getting them both on your bed and couch. Call up an exterminator because a professional is the best choice. It's distusting and not near as effective to do it yourself. Consider sleeping at a friends for a while- because the bites are usually harmless but are very itchy and annoying [like a moisquito bite] and can cause serious infections. Hot water wont fight them off because they dont LIVE in your bed during the day time. And they can live in hot temertures, anyway. They are more likely to live in hot temertures, actually! Good luck. Just follow my advice and you'll be fine soon.

it is amazing how many bed bug questions on this site, the problem is getting out of hand for sure.

The best advice for you would be to get a professional, because your infestation sounds quite advanced. Be very careful to get a guarantee from whoever you hire or you may just be throwing away money.

When (and if) you do go stay at a friend's place, be very careful that you don't bring them with you! any clothes and bags you bring with you must be dried on the highest setting to kill them... i am sure you would feel very bad if you gave this terrible problem to a friend as well. Careful, they are excellent at piggybacking and traveling to a new location, that is why this problem is getting out of hand, all over the world... (that and the fact that the inexpensive chemical, DDT, which works like a charm on these bugs, is outlawed most places in the world)

Good luck

Those are bed bugs. You need an exterminator. It's too hard to do it yourself.

These bugs hide during the day and come out at night to bite you. They are harmless but creepy and cause itchy bites. They can hide in/around/behind night stands, headboards, baseboards, etc. UP TO 100 FEET away from your bed! Then travel back to your bed at night to feed.

well you can maybe try killing them off using temperature they cant live though like put the sheets in the dryer or freezer for awhile but that probably wont keep them away.. try not eating there becuase that could attract bugs

Try contacting your local council's environmental department for their advice
