I'd never routinely use alcohol to clean glasses.
The best method is an old, well-worn cotton 'Glass cloth' type tea towel.
Just breathe on the lens and wipe gently. It should come up absolutely smear-free.
This works far better than any 'proper' glasses cleaning cloth I have ever tried.
If they get some form of grease on them, I usually give them a wash in dilute washing up liquid, then rinse and dry with the cotton cloth.
I have used pure IPA (Isopropyl alcohol) as a last resort on a couple of occasions.
(I believe that's what the opticians use to clean the alignment 'print' off them during fitting.)

I am a professional glass cleaner and the ratio is the same as I use when cleaning glass louvres. The ratio is 1 part metho spirits to 25 part water.

One thing you might try is letting the door dry completely and use steel wool.. It will take a little effort but steel wool cuts through the soap scum and does not seem to hurt the glass. Using a cleanser works too but takes longer. I used to clean empty apartments and getting the soap scum off of glass and chrome was the biggest hardship besides getting the grease out of the hood over the range. Do not use steel wool on the chrome, that will be a disaster.
