So I come home one day to find my door open and crayon all over the body of my acoustic guitar. My three year old sister thought it wasn't pretty enough, apparently. The wood of my guitar has no finish on it, so I believe all the oils in the wood are natural. I've heard of wd40 removing crayon but am worried about the grease affecting the finish of my guitar?

What's the best way to get it off?

You do use the WD40 but here is the way to do it safely

#1 - spray WD40 onto soft clean cloth and rub in a circular motion gently over crayon areas to remove the wax of the crayon.

#2 - apply a little baking soda to the treated areas and rub to remove the stain (coloring) after the wax has been removed.

#3 - with slightly damp rag wipe it clean with warm soapy water, then clear water, then hand dry in circular motion immediately.

#4 - Allow your guitar to set for a day to completely dry and then use a protectant on it such as Johnson's paste wax to seal out the dirt and future crayons. :)
