I have a favorite pair of jeans I haven't worn in 3 months. They were washed and dried. When I wore them they felt tight, but this time they felt tighter than they usually feel after shrinking in the dryer. They are 97% cotton. I know I haven't gained weight. If anything I am the same weight or lost weight since I have been working out a lot and running. Could it be they shrink MORE with each wash? Also could it be I havent worn them in months? Thanks!

The hotter the dryer is and the longer they are in there, the smaller they will be. They will certainly stretch back out after a little bit....even if you cannot get them buttoned or zipped, leave them on and walk around for a few minutes and try again.

If they were snug on you before and you have been wearing looser clothing...sweats, running shorts, skirts, dresses..........they will SEEM to feel much tighter because you are not used to wearing them.

Oh yeah and Bob is right about working out....fat goes away, but muscles grow when you work out. Muscle also weighs more than fat even if your scales show you have gained weight, that is not always a bad thing.

Working out and running might make your jeans tighter. People who work out a lot gain weight, that is why many men do it.
