after I take a shower, my mum throws the towel into the dryer, w/o it being in the washing machine first. is that unhygenic? i used the towel to dry my body, including my more intimate parts, ahem. She does this act to "save money."

Yuck. Sounds like a good way to seal any dirt(body oils, dead skin, plus who knows what else) on the towel right into the towel with the dryer heat so it will never get really clean again. Better to just hang the towel properly so it dries off before the next use. If your house is heated at all, it will dry in a few hours.

There is nothing wrong with washing the towel once a week or even two! Daily washing is unncessary and harmful to the environment. You are clean when you get out and you are the only one using the towel. Think about how often you wash your sheets! Certainly not daily and they will be alot dirtier than your towel. Your mom is correct in this case. Most people don't even throw it in the dryer, they just hang it to dry!

Using it to dry your body....after you took a shower. Did you not clean yourself in the shower? I know I use soap, not sure about you.
I use the same towel for a few days before I replace it.
The primary reason the towels get dirty is because of moisture and bacteria. If you fully clean yourself in the shower and wipe down, the towel gets wet. If you toss it on the floor or in the bin? It will stay wet and gather bacteria. If you hang it up and let it air dry? It doesn't get dirty nearly as quickly.
Using the dryer is silly though, since she will be spending more money on the energy to run the dryer every day, than it would cost to run the washer once a week.

I don't see a problem with it, if she's doing it to keep the towel dry between washings. Depending on humidity in the air and how thick the towels are, a lot of times towels stay slightly damp in between uses. That leads to mildew growth, and bad odors.

a effective liner will preserve many of the poop concern. sure breastfed infants are extra uncomplicated simply by fact breastmilk is extremely digested and the poop does not scent, yet that ends as quickly as solids are presented, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it is not that undesirable. throw what you could interior the lavatory, you will get a diaper sprayer to help and something right into a dry bucket (no vinegar because it breaks down the threads speedier). Prefolds with a a conceal would be your maximum inexpensive. you will get a snappi to safeguard it. it rather is purely a sq. of fabric you fold around, youtube has lots of video clips on the thank you to try this. geared up diapers are next up and are maximum like disposables. Pocket diapers are the subsequent maximum costly and then multi functional are the main costly (diaper and canopy is one piece). storing the grimy: get a moist bag. 2 actual. One super one for a pail liner and one small one for once you're out. you could purely take the moist bag and turn it interior out into the showering gadget and wash the bag itself besides. I also have a pail with a lid yet I in no way placed the lid on anymore and as quickly as the scent overwhelms I wash the diapers, yet often i run out of diapers formerly that ingredient. washing: rinse, warm water wash with non-frangrance cleansing soap, and then an further rinse. you need to use vinegar in case you experience that cleansing soap is being left interior the diapers, inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it does smash down the fibres speedier. in no way use softener simply by fact it reduces the absorbency.

It def. is if someone else uses it.. like if she take it out the dryer and folds it to be reused.. now I don't see anything with reusing your same towel for like 2 day if you just shower and when you are done hang it over the shower rod to dry.. But idk about that dryer thing.

Tell her she's wasting money by running the dryer every time you take a shower. Just wash your own from now on if she doesn't listen to you.

Your mom's a skank. Don't follow her examples when you get older when it comes to laundry. They should at least be rinsed in baking soda first
Just imagine what gets on a towel. I don't need to go into detail here.

If the dryer heats to sterilizing temperatures, it's perfectly safe. (Disgusting, maybe, but safe.) If not, it's both disgusting and unhealthy.
